We should also remember our history and those who came before us to shape our country and who sacrificed so much for it.
There is a recent trend to erase or ignore our history and regard it as something less than perfect or something to be embarrassed about.
No country's history is perfect, as no family's history is perfect. But it is ours. Our history has helped shape us, shape our nation. Our history has helped us get to where we are.
This Canada Day, let us remember our past as part of who we are.
